Position Summary:

The President/CEO preferably has a college/university degree, or equivalent experience, and at least three years of hands-on experience in a similar capacity.  Additional experience desired in business planning, organizational leadership, marketing and sales, and financial management.  A CEcD certification is desirable.

The position focuses on the three tenets of economic development: business recruitment, expansion and retention. The President/CEO is to work and coordinate the Economic Development program with Federal, State (Washington and Idaho), Counties and City departments/division.

The President/CEO is the recognized spokesperson for Valley Vision, Inc. (VV) and will ensure the highest levels of professionalism and client service are maintained by VV.  The President/CEO reports to the Board of Directors of VV and is directly supervised by the Chairman of the Board.  The President/CEO will ensure that all operations of VV are in accordance with the bylaws and policies of VV, governmental regulations and contracts, good business practices, and accepted accounting principles.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Attracting prospective clients and developing relationships with companies, which leads to the creation of projects that will relocate or expand in the Lewis-Clark Valley area.
  • Participating in tradeshows and trade missions representing Valley Vision and the Lewis-Clark Valley.
  • Retaining and helping existing businesses and industries grow and expand.
  • Providing local advocacy for new and existing businesses to ensure equity to avoid costly delays.
  • Resourcing information for attracting and retaining businesses.
  • Participating in the coordination of activities with local, state and national economic development organizations.
  • Providing value to investors/members and prospective investors/members with regularity.
  • Serving as an ambassador to the mission and goals of VV by speaking before civic and professional groups about the plans and objectives.
  • Managing the staff of VV in a professional manner, including direct supervision of employees, contractors and financial management.
  • Developing and implementing an annual work plan to achieve the performance goals established by the board of directors and preparing the annual report for investor/members.
